The Integrated Team Award recognizes an integrated research and teaching and/or outreach team that has demonstrated innovation in translating research into outputs for dissemination and implementation through applied research-based activities that resulted in partnerships and engagement across the college and beyond.
Who can submit a nomination for this award?
- Anyone can nominate a team for this award. Self-nominations are permitted and welcomed.
Eligibility Requirements
- Integrated teams must be able to demonstrate success and accomplishments in translating research into outputs for dissemination and implementation through applied research-based activities that resulted in partnerships and engagement across the college and beyond.
- Must include at least one faculty member (tenured, tenure-track, or non-tenure-track) with a research appointment in the College of Agricultural Sciences and at least one Penn State Extension full-time personnel (e.g., faculty member with an extension appointment, research associate and/or educator).

Provide a nomination letter (2-page maximum) that addresses the following criteria:
- What is the central challenge being addressed by the integrated approach?
- Describe the significance of the challenge and potential for scientific advancement and public benefit
- How and when did your team form (what was the motivating factor)? Has the team evolved since it was initially formed?
- What are the innovative strategies, tools, or methods you have employed to integrate the research and extension members of the team?
- What innovative approaches has the team employed to engage stakeholders in the team’s activities? Identify audiences who are not traditionally targeted
- How has your team responded to any challenges, setbacks, or barriers in working collaboratively?
Evidence of Teamwork

Provide a team CV that outlines evidence of team collaboration and integration in outputs, including but not limited to the following:
- Research publications, organized research events or activities (workshops, symposia, speaker series, etc.), shared mentoring of graduate students or postdocs
- Integrated extramural funding proposals
- Extension publications, events or activities, other deliverables created and/or points of engagement for dissemination of information and education
