The College of Ag Sciences is committed to making its websites accessible to all users, and welcomes comments or suggestions on access improvements.

Accessibility Statement

Penn State is committed, through our Policy AD69, to ensuring that people with disabilities have an opportunity equal to that of their nondisabled peers to participate in the University's programs, benefits, and services, including those delivered through electronic and information technology.

What are we doing to make our websites accessible?

Penn State implemented Policy AD69 Accessibility of Web Pages, and the College of Agricultural Sciences and Penn State Extension are committed to complying with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) Version 2.0, AA conformance level.

Our efforts include, but are not limited to:

  • Converting PDF files to accessible web content.
  • Using proper heading tags and site structure.
  • Using the alt attribute on images.
  • Providing captions on videos.
  • Using descriptive text for links instead of generic words like "click here."
  • Providing proper contrast between text and background colors.
  • Providing online tutorials on best practices for our hundreds of content providers.
