The purpose of this endowment shall be to support College of Agricultural Sciences faculty in their biotechnology research and teaching programs that give promise of improving upon food crop production and quality while protecting the quality and safety of the environment.

Eligibility:

Submissions from teams of investigators/instructors are welcome, but a faculty member is limited to one submission, either solo or as a team member.

Amount:

$5,500 available for 2019/2020 fiscal year.

Guidelines:

  • A proposal describing the nature of the applicant's research or teaching program and how it addresses the purpose quoted above, not to exceed two pages.
    • Within this page limit, include a brief budget showing how the funds will be spent for the time-frame of July 1, 2019, though May 31, 2020
  • Please note that these funds will need to be expended by May 31, 2020, to allow for clearing the budget by June 30. Any remaining funds will revert to the Office for Research and will be used per donor guidelines.
  • Submit a unified pdf to Research and Graduate Education via email (agresearch@psu.edu) by 5:00PM Monday, May 13, 2019.

Selection Process:

Proposals will be reviewed by the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education with consultation from appropriate department heads or faculty members as needed.
