Arthur W. Nesbitt Faculty Program Development Award

Only one submission per academic unit is allowed. Approval of the applicant's department head will be required.

Eligibility

One faculty member focusing on dairy per academic department, for Animal Science or Food Science.

Amount

$17,400 available for the 2025/2026 fiscal year.

Guidelines

The proposal should include:

• Proposed project with objectives and expected outcomes (2 pages maximum; page limit does not include budget justification).
  • Include how results from the investment of Nesbitt funds are likely to lead to additional funding from other sources.
• Brief budget and justification for the expected use of the funds within the time-frame of June 1, 2025, through May 31, 2026.
  
  • ​​​​​​​Include the budget justification at the end of the proposal narrative (not included in the page limit).
  • Use the provided budget template in InfoReady to upload a budget spreadsheet.
    
    • Funds cannot be used for faculty supplemental salary.
    • Other personnel is permitted and will be charged the appropriate fringe amount.

Please note that these funds must be expended by May 31, 2026, to allow for clearing the budget by June 30. Any remaining funds will revert to our office and will be used per donor guidelines.

Proposals must be submitted through the InfoReady system by midnight Friday, April 18, 2025.

Proposals will be reviewed by the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education with consultation from appropriate department heads or faculty members as needed.
