Our college is one of the most research active among our peer institutions. We are conducting hundreds of Agricultural Research and Extension Center projects as a part of our mission of bringing science based knowledge to the people of the Commonwealth.
FREC is located in the southern part of the state (apple country) and specializes in insect, disease, and plant research with fruit trees and grapes.
This 40-acre facility serves the grape-processing industry, which has a strong presence along the Lake Erie coastline in Pennsylvania and New York.
Located in Rock Springs, about 10 miles southwest of University Park, the Center is comprised of 2,000 acres of farmland.
Located in Landisville, PA, the SEAREC is home to Penn State's applied field research program in the south central region of the state.
