The purpose of this endowment shall be to enrich the College of Agricultural Sciences by providing monies for fruit production research.

Eligibility:

Full-time faculty members who have efforts in fruit production research and support.

Amount:

$5,500 for 2019/2020 fiscal year.

Guidelines:

1. Proposals should explain:

  • Proposed project for the time-frame of July 1, 2019, through May 31, 2020, which may include the following:
    • Research work of faculty and graduate students
    • Equipment purchase and maintenance
    • Library assistance
    • Travel and field work expenses
  • Expected use of funds (funds may not be used for faculty supplemental salary, other personnel is permitted and will be charged the appropriate fringe amount).

2. Funds will need to be expended by May 31, 2020, to allow for clearing the budget by June 30. Any remaining funds will revert to the Office for Research and will be used per donor guidelines.

3. Submit a unified pdf to Research and Graduate Education via email (agresearch@psu.edu) by 5:00PM Monday, May 13, 2019.

Selection Process:

Proposals will be reviewed by the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education with consultation from appropriate department heads or faculty members as needed. Preference will be given to proposals that have impact on multiple programs.
