The Carter Center Internship Program has provided more than 2,500 interns with a rewarding complement to classroom experience. The goal of the Internship Program is to develop an informed and skilled work force committed to advancing peace and health worldwide.

Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)

CSIS offers full and part-time internships in the fall, spring and summer for undergraduates, advanced students, and recent graduates who are interested in gaining practical experience in public policy.

Interns may participate in a variety of activities, including research, writing, and organizing meetings and events that support the goals of the program with which they are working.

CIAT: International Center for Tropical Agriculture

CIAT is an international research center within the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). The Decision and Policy Analysis Area (DAPA) of the CIAT evaluates the effects of climate change, evaluates technology and knowledge gaps, critically analyses environmental and agricultural policy in Latin America, and considers barriers to market access for small, rural producers in developing countries.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Summer Internship Program is a 10-week experience for rising juniors and seniors majoring in homeland security related science, technology, engineering and mathematics (HS-STEM) disciplines. The DHS HS-STEM Summer Internship Program provides students with the opportunity to conduct research in DHS mission-relevant research areas at federal research facilities located across the country.

The FSD Intern Abroad program serves students and young professionals looking to gain international development experience and training while working to support an underserved community. The program commonly acts as a catalyst for building a career in development, strengthening applications for graduate programs, or cultivating relationships with international communities and organizations.

IFAD (International Fund for Agricultural Development)

The IFAD Internship Programme aims at promoting amongst the participants a better understanding of the United Nations and IFAD. The programme is meant for recent university graduates or students who specialize in fields of work relevant to IFAD's mandate. Interns are fully involved in the work programme of the Division that has selected them to carry out assignments relevant to their studies under the supervision of an IFAD staff member.

Millennium Challenge Corporation Internships are provided for students with a desire to work in the international development field. Assignments are designed to complement the intern's educational pursuits while meeting the expressed needs of the agency and individual MCC departments.

Norman Borlaug Institute: International Agricultural Education Fellowship Program (IAEFP)

IAEFP trains and supports fellows to work with teachers and community members in developing countries to implement school-based agricultural education (SBAE) and establish youth leadership clubs. 

OIC International

OICI is an organization that works toward improving the quality of life of low-income, disadvantaged individuals through the provision of skills training, business development, and health and food security programs in the developing world. The organization welcomes internships in all of its programs and operational areas, which includes food security and agriculture. Normally, interns join a program team or work in the areas of finance, PR, outreach, graphic design, and tech support, or a special event.

OIC International welcomes interns in all of its program and operational areas. Interns typically join a program team or work in the areas of finance, public relations, or fund-raising development.

IAESTE

The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) is an independent, non-profit and non-political student exchange organisation. It provides students in technical degrees (primarily Science, Engineering and the applied arts) with paid, course-related, training abroad and employers with highly skilled, highly motivated trainees, for long or short term projects. With over 80 countries involved and exchanging over 4000 traineeships each year worldwide, it is the largest organisation of its kind in the world.

The School for Field Studies

The School for Field Studies operates semester and summer field-based study abroad programs. Through these programs, SFS seeks to deepen undergraduate students' understanding of the relationships between environmental sustainability, social justice, and economic development. Internships are available at all six of our field programs: himalayan forests, watersheds, & rural livelihoods, marine resource management, rainforest restoration, sustainable development, and wildlife management.

USDA-NIFA

Start your career at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The USDA offers federal internship and employment opportunities for current students, recent graduates, recent veterans, and those with advanced degrees. There are three pathway opportunities.

The Pathways Internship Program provides year-round paid work experiences for current degree-seeking high-school, undergraduate, and graduate students. Interns may work during the summer, fall, spring or year-round and are eligible for non-competitive conversion upon program completion.

The White House

The White House Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills. This hands-on program is designed to mentor and cultivate today's young leaders, strengthen their understanding of the Executive Office and prepare them for future public service opportunities.

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to work closely with senior White House officials and science and technology (S&T) policy analysts in OSTP's topic-based divisions (Division internship), or on OSTP's legal team (Legal internship).

The World Bank Internship Program offers highly motivated and successful individuals an opportunity to improve their skills while working in a diverse environment. Interns generally find the experience to be rewarding and interesting.
