This unique program is available to Animal Science majors only.
University of Glasgow, College of Medical Veterinary & Life Sciences
The University of Glasgow, School of Veterinary Medicine, has an internationally renowned reputation in Veterinary Medicine, and is fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). The University of Glasgow is working with selected Universities across North America, to offer a unique opportunity for high quality animal science students who wish to study veterinary medicine, within the global context. This program is called FEEPASS (Facilitated Early Entry Program for Animal Science Students).
The University of Glasgow, School of Veterinary Medicine is offering an innovative program whereby selected students complete the final year (semester option not available) of their Penn State Animal Science degree at the University of Glasgow. During their time at Glasgow, students will study alongside students on the first year of the University of Glasgow's veterinary medicine degree program (Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, BVMS - which is the equivalent to the DVM in the United States). Successful completion of assessments in the Vet FEEPASS year will provide credits, which following transfer to Penn State, will allow completion of the student's animal science degree from Penn State and accelerated entry to year 2 of the University of Glasgow's BVMS program. This is a reduction of one year from the total duration of study required to become a DVM and has associated cost benefits. The University is one of six Vet Schools in Europe to have achieved accredited status for its undergraduate programs from the AVMA. More information can be found on the University of Glasgow Veterinary Medicine & Surgery website and on the Penn State Global Programs website. If you are interested, schedule an appointment with Dr. Bob Mikesell, rem9@psu.edu by your Sophomore year (at the latest) to learn more about the application process.
