Christian Man Joins CSIS

Earlier this month, Christian Man, Ph.D. candidate in INTAD and Rural Sociology, joined the Global Food Security Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. His team's aim is to enhance global food security through research, analysis, and policy recommendations. As a research fellow at CSIS, Christian will be responsible for conducting field research, writing commentaries, and speaking publicly on major issues in food security. For instance, next month he will be giving a lecture at the National Defense University on the relationship between conflict and food insecurity.

In this role, Christian hopes to learn more about building strategic relationships with decision-makers, using research as a lever for policy changes, and speaking and writing carefully on broad, complex topics. To the job, he'd like to bring his community-development-practitioner background, paired with his training at Penn State as a rural sociologist, to bear.
