Spring 2016 Embedded Course: "An Irish Odyssey: Gardens Landscapes and Culture of Ireland"

There is a wonderful course and in-country travel to Ireland being offered spring semester of 2016 through the Plant Science Department. An Irish Odyssey: Gardens, Landscapes and Culture of Ireland, a Hort 499 course, is open to students in all majors. Travel dates are Tuesday, May 10 through Thursday, May 19.

The course will meet periodically during spring semester with the in-country travel occurring after spring graduation. The course requirements are centered on studying Irish history and culture with students selecting areas of special interest for personalized study. This course is being offered with a variable credit option. Locations in Ireland that the course will visit include several days in and around Dublin and locations in the south and west of the republic. Lodging will be in four star hotels and travel will be in a full size air-conditioned tour bus with a designated guide. Many meals are included. Faculty teaching the course will accompany the students in Ireland. Free time is built into the in-country travel to allow students to pursue individual interests.
