Collegiate Farm Bureau at Penn State invites you to an evening with Congressmen Glenn "GT" Thompson and Pennsylvania Farm Bureau Vice President Tommy Nagel. These distinguished guests will speak about the upcoming Farm Bill and other agricultural policies on April 2nd, 2024, at 5:30 pm in 102 AVBS.
Join Collegiate Farm Bureau club for an insightful session of agricultural policy discussions with Pennsylvania Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson and Tommy Nagle, Vice President of PA Farm Bureau.
Congressman Thompson’s district includes a large area of central Pennsylvania, including the University Park campus. He is the chairman of the US House Committee on Agriculture and has led efforts to gather input on the Farm Bill from from those involved in food production federal nutrition assistance programs. As we approach reauthorization discussions, the Congressman will share some of the process that resulted in the proposed Farm Bill. If time permits, he also will address other legislative developments affecting agriculture and beyond.
Mr. Nagle has held numerous positions within PA Farm Bureau, and for the past year and half has served as its Vice-President. He will speak to the importance of developing local leaders who are willing to make the time to engage in discussions that shape policies and regulations, especially those that affect agriculture and rural communities.
