Penn State's Undergraduate Research Ambassadors are a team of students who bring diverse experience in research and creative activity across various academic disciplines within the Penn State community. Ambassadors serve as mentors, guiding peers who seek to engage with research and creative endeavors on campus, while also representing the URFM (Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Mentoring) office at University events. This volunteer position presents an exceptional opportunity for student leaders to foster a vibrant community of student researchers while honing essential professional skills, including interpersonal communication, leadership, teamwork, public speaking, and time management.

 Ambassadors must:

  • be enrolled full-time in their second year or above from any major or campus
  • maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • have experience assisting or conducting research at the college level
  • have an interest in and ability to effectively communicate about your research experience at Penn State

This program is a volunteer opportunity. Candidates should have a passion for promoting undergraduate research at Penn State and helping students connect with various research opportunities. Ambassadors are expected to attend five out of the six meetings each semester and participate in the Undergraduate Exhibition in the spring.
