Positions Available for Ag Students

Posted: August 13, 2012

Ag students wanted. We are looking for passionate students to work on a project about infectious diseases in plants.
Two faculty at the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics are proposing to radically change how small holder farmers in developing countries gain access to knowledge of plant pathogens. We aim to leverage social networks, machine learning and app- enabled delivery of knowledge to put the power in the hands of farmers in developing countries. To do this we need "an idiot's guide to plant pathology". We want a group of 5-7 excited students to work as a group on reducing the enormously complex body of literature on plant disease to the core information required by farmers. We will work off CABI's encyclopedia of diseases as well as other sources. The possibility exists for independent projects and publications. Please contact David Hughes ( for more information.
