In May 2021, the Lancaster Clean Water Partners Action Teams came together for the first time ever to plant 2.5 acres of riparian forest buffer at Overlook Park in Manheim Township.
This riparian buffer will eventually be planted across eight acres and remove about 211 pounds of nitrogen, 9 pounds of phosphorus and 12,500 pounds of sediment per year, helping reach the goal of clean and clear waterways in Lancaster County by 2040.
