Recent construction of a slash wall is the featured topic for this year's tour
Forestry Tour
Recently created during the 2025 PA Timber Show, this slash wall construction will serve to educate the public about the benefits of this structure over fencing. Participants will learn what material is necessary to build one and what the maintenance requirements are to sustain the structure. Since the construction was only two months ago, visitors should not expect to see too much actual growth inside the wall but you can learn what to expect in the future. Forestry and wildlife professionals will lead the interactive tours and be on hand to answer your questions. They will also connect participants to Cooperative Extension resources about forests, wildlife, and habitat management.
Bus leaves daily at 9:00 a.m.; Additional times on Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
*Note: walking on trails over uneven terrain/standing involved. No restrooms available.
