This NEW tour features ongoing research on the sustainable management of soil health and soilborne pests and pathogens in open field and high tunnel vegetable production systems.

Participants will visit open field and high tunnel fresh-market tomato research plots and will learn about:

1. Advantages and challenges associated with the use of high tunnels compared to open field production

2. Organic vegetable production systems associated opportunities and challenges

3. Soil health and Anaerobic Soil Disinfestation, an innovative biological solution for the management of soilborne pests and pathogens

Members of our research and Extension team will lead the tour and will be available to answer questions.

Bus Leaves Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.; Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.; and Thursday at 3:00 p.m. 

Note: Walking on uneven soil and standing involved. No restrooms are available.
