Each year the Agricultural Safety and Health team highlight a safety topic important to the everyday lives of farm families. This year learn about the hazards of flowing grain, life lines and anchor points, confined space grain storages and the best practices to avoid and respond to entrapment risks. Grain bin rescue demonstrations will be held to highlight types of rescue devices and training available to first responders for proper management of on-farm incidents involving grain storage. In addition, the Farm Safety Demonstration Area (SD) will host Penn State faculty demonstrating safe use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). Visit the Rural Health and Safety Tent located at Demo Alley and W. 6th Street! There will be multiple health screenings opportunities available each day. Visit AgrAbility for Pennsylvanians to learn about new adaptive resources for agricultural producers who have a disability or long-term health condition.

Join us to learn about the hazards of all-terrain vehicles (ATV's) which are commonly used on the farm and for recreational activities. The team will show the potential for a rollover incident and ways to reduce the risk of an overturn and highlight the use of personal protective equipment. An agricultural rescue demonstration will take place to help prepare first responders approaching the scene, to properly manage a farm related incident as well as Stop the Bleed Trainings. Penn State Puller's will show their 1/4 scale tractor build. The Farm Safety Demonstration Area (SD) will also be used by commercial drone companies to demonstrate the safe use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).
Visitors to the Rural Health and Safety Tent - located at Demo Alley and W. 6th Street, can participate in FREE health screenings, interactive activities, gather health and wellness information, and learn about farming with a disability or health condition. FREE health screenings may include carotid artery, vision, thyroid, stroke, blood sugar, blood pressure, colo-rectal, and hepatitis C. Visit AgrAbility, PA to learn about assistive technology, modifications and resources to support farming careers. PA Office of Rural Health Worker Protections Standard program will offer two courses daily awarding 1 core credit per talk at W906 Meeting Room, on the grounds.
