INTAG 300: Agricultural Production and Farming Systems in the Tropics will be offered in Fall 2021.

The course will explore tropical food systems and farming systems across the world. It will provide in-person course sessions include virtual interaction with students and faculty from the University of Tennessee.

An optional post-class trip from January 2-9, 2022 to ECHO in Florida where students from UoT and PSU will jointly see many different tropical crops and animals and study innovations for smallholders in different ecoregions of the Tropics. Includes a visit to a project in Florida with Cultivating Abundance among training with immigrant communities about fruit and vegetable backyard gardens for improved nutrition. Students will grow a tropical crop of their choice in the greenhouse.

This course fulfills the IL requirement, and the INTAG Minor study abroad requirement.
