Applications are now open for Virginia Tech's summer 2022 VT-REEL program, a USDA NIFA funded Research and Extension Experience for Undergraduates (REEU)!
VT's summer 2022 REEU program is a unique opportunity for students to gain invaluable experience conducting hands-on basic and applied plant science research. Each student is paired with two faculty mentors - one on-campus, and one at an AREC (Agricultural Research and Extension Centers) - who collaborate to design a translational project that incorporates both bench-top and field aspects. Students also strengthen their soft skills through a variety of professional development activities, engage with agricultural stakeholders at extension fields days, and present their research to faculty and peers at an annual poster symposium.

Each student receives:
- $4,500 stipend
- free group housing
- on-campus meal plan
