Program Description:
Consider the role of agricultural education by visiting examples of both formal and non-formal agricultural education and discover 4-H Belize! Try something new by sleeping in a traditional Mayan hut and trying food prepared by local people. Think about agriculture in new ways by touring small and large scale agriculture operations and learning about traditional agriculture practices and their role in modern life.

TeachAg Belize is an embedded course at Penn State that includes an introductory immersion experience, allowing participants to explore formal and non-formal education about agriculture through indigenous populations with multi-lingual cultures.

Participants will learn more about the role of indigenous knowledge in agricultural education in the multi-cultural context offered by the country of Belize, through the help of our partners CELA Belize

More details on this experience (which counts towards an International Agriculture minor) can be found on this website.
