Explore urban sustainability during a semester in Pittsburgh, PA.

Starting fall 2017, there's a new Penn State program for students who are interested in helping the cities of today support the world of tomorrow. As populations increase, cities must find creative solutions for challenges such as housing, transportation, clean air and water, health, waste management, food supplies, education and jobs. Study Away is a 15-credit residential program that provides students with an immersive urban experience while taking classes in-person and online. It is designed to allow students to learn about urban sustainability challenges and work on projects that directly improve communities. The first program will take place in Pittsburgh, PA.

Eligibility:
Students must have achieved junior standing by fall 2017. Study Away is designed to align with the academic requirements of most undergraduate programs. Consult your academic advisor to see how this program aligns with your degree requirements.

Financial Assistance:
Grants and fellowships up to $2,500 are available to qualifying students.

Applications are due by March 15, 2017.
