Events that the ag sorority are hosting for recruitment.
Sigma Alpha is Penn State's only Professional Agricultural Sorority. Our values are based on four pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Sisterhood. Sigma Alpha is unique because it is the best of both worlds being an associate chapter of Penn State Panhellenic while also being a professional sorority. Our sorority has many opportunities to make friends as well as find a new interest. Even though we are made up of a little more than 75% College of Agricultural Sciences majors, we are not limited to students of the College of Agricultural Sciences and even have a wide variety of majors including, but not limited to Animal Science, VBSC, Food Science, BBH, and many others.
Being a professional sorority consists of being exposed to professional development events, professional speakers, job opportunities and connections - which is a great networking platform for not only Agricultural Sciences majors, but other majors as well. Some events that we have partaken in so far are informal rush after open houses, Mr. & Mrs. College of Ag pageant, Greek Week, Friendsgiving, Men of Ag. Calendar, Homecoming, Fall Classic, etc.
Our upcoming events are below:
- Sept. 6th :Info Night 6pm Ewing (South Halls)
- Sept. 8th: Bandana Tie dye 8pm Cross (South Halls)
- Sept. 9th: Service Night 6pm Ewing
- Sept. 11th: Cornhole and Caramel Corn 7pm
- Professional Night and Bid day are invitational
