Agricultural students with journalism or communications training are encouraged to apply for Progressive Publishing's 2018 editorial internship program. Applications are due December 15, 2017.

Editorial interns will be responsible for writing feature and news articles for one or more of the company's agricultural magazines (Progressive Forage, Progressive Cattleman, Progressive Dairyman) as well as copy/editing and photography. The internship may be tailored to those with particular skill sets, including design, web content, social media and marketing. Applicants should maintain a 3.0 or greater GPA in college coursework and have previous writing experience.

Students who have completed coursework for their junior or senior year are preferable. Students who will have completed their undergraduate degree by spring 2018 are also encouraged to apply.

A dairy or agricultural background is not required, but experience and knowledge of the industry is preferred.
The internship is based at the company's headquarters in Jerome, Idaho. It is a paid internship, and assistance in locating housing and arranging transportation will be provided. Start and end dates for the internship are flexible to accommodate class schedules and graduation dates. Typical internships last 8 to 10 weeks.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, three references and examples of published work that relates to their field of expertise. Suggested amounts and categories of published works are: five articles, five ad designs or layouts, three marketing campaigns or three designed websites. Materials for class assignments will be accepted if applicant does not have examples of published work.
