MANRRS is inviting interested students to watch and discuss the first episode of High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America.  This is a 2021 series on Netflix where food writer Stephen Satterfield traces the origins of African-American cuisine through lines from Africa to Texas.

We will watch the first episode and have a discussion. The discussion will be lead by Dr. Nicole Webster (pictured). Dr. Webster is an Associate Professor of Youth and International Development and African Studies and the Director of the Youth Civic Lab.
