City Semester Philadelphia fosters collaboration among communities, practitioners, and students from a variety of disciplines through semester-long placements.
LIVE: Experience a semester in Philly! A range of housing options are available.
STUDY: Credits are available for internships and coursework. Students participate in a 3 credit course: CI185 Principals of Social Justice in Education and earn 6+ credits for a 20-40 hour per week internship. Online courses and independent study are also available.
LEARN: Community Partners offer a broad range of meaningful placements. The program emphasizes involvement in collaborative projects with community-based organizations, nonprofit advocacy groups, social service agencies, healthcare providers, design firms, museums, galleries, socially responsible businesses, and government in Philadelphia.
CO-CREATE: Interventions to disparity and polarization are designed and implemented in collaboration with community partners. You will develop skills around social issues that professionals in your discipline confront. Field trips include tours of neighborhoods and exhibits that provide context for Philly's most pressing problems.
