The Penn State Coaly Society is an honor society for students who exemplify leadership excellence in extracurricular activities within the College of Agricultural Sciences.
Coaly Society activities include conducting the Guldin Speaking Contest and coordinating our college's Outstanding Senior Contest with the College of Ag Alumni Society.
Coaly members are dedicated to the College of Agricultural Sciences and are actively involved in college organizations. Selection of new Coaly Society members is based on leadership positions (offices or committee chairs) in Ag Hill activities. Other activities such as judging teams are also considered. You must be a member of at least one club sponsored by the College of Agricultural Sciences to be eligible, and you must have completed one full semester at the University Park campus. Applicants must have reached at least junior class standing academically. Please be thorough in completing the application since this is the only criterion used in selecting candidates. Feel free to use additional paper if necessary, and please be concise in your essay. Although applicants must have an overall grade point average of 2.5 or higher, the primary criterion used for selection is leadership in College of Agricultural Sciences student clubs.
Applications may be requested by emailing either Nicole Guise, president of Coaly Society, at nvg5204@psu.edu or Debbie Heeman in the College of Ag Sciences, Office of Undergraduate Education at dah54@psu.edu. Applications are due by email to Debbie Heeman by 5 p.m. on Monday, October 19. The applications must be either typed on the original form or retyped. Computer simulations are acceptable. All applicants will be notified of their acceptance status by email. Please send questions to Nicole Guise at nvg5204@psu.edu.
