Cargill and the Institute of International Education (IIE) are pleased to announce the launch of the 2020-2021 Cargill Global Scholars Program application cycle. As a valued partner university of the Cargill Global Scholars Program, Cargill is very pleased that five students from The Pennsylvania State University have been selected as scholars since the program's launch in 2013.
Cargill looks forward to receiving more applications for this year's competition from eligible Penn State University students enrolled at the University Park campus who:
- Will be graduating with their bachelor's degree between May 2023 and August 2024
- Are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Demonstrate high academic performance and leadership potential
Students in the following fields of interest are encouraged to apply:
- Agriculture Related Fields
- Biochemistry
- Biology
- Business
- Computer or Data Science
- Engineering
- Environmental Studies and Sustainability
- Food Science
- International Relations
Ten scholars will be chosen in the United States for the ninth cohort of the Cargill Global Scholars Program. The scholars will receive:
- Annual scholarship award of $2,500 for up to two years
- Participation in two fully-funded Leadership Development Seminars held during Summer 2021 and Summer 2022
- Opportunities to network with fellow scholars from Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, and Russia
- One-on-one mentorship from Cargill executives in the United States and abroad
Two webinars are scheduled for November where students may learn more about the program and hear from program participants and alumni about their experience. While the target audience of these webinars is students, we also welcome any faculty or staff members who are interested in learning more. You may register for the webinars using the following links:
