Congratulations Maddie Over on being selected Ag Student of the Month for February 2021! Ag Student of the Month is a prestigious award given out by the College of Ag Student Council to a student that demonstrates actions that benefit their club and the College of Agricultural Sciences.
Maddie Over is an outstanding student majoring in Animal Science – Business option at University Park. Her activities demonstrate the values of an exemplary College of Ag Sciences student effectively discovering and translating relevant research and science to solve real-world problems.
Over is an active member of the Dairy Science Club. She attended the club trip to the Netherlands in 2019 and she participates in other club events like the Nittany Lion Fall Classic Holstein Consignment Sale and the Holiday Cheesebox Sale.
Maddie is also a member of the Poultry Science Club where she serves as Public Relations Chair. She designs Instagram posts about club members and events to promote the Poultry Science Club. She also took the initiative to create a Facebook page for the club and is currently working on a LinkedIn page to connect members with alumni.
This past summer Over worked as an intern for Hillandale Farms in Connecticut. Hillandale is a supplier of shelled eggs to retailers and distributors in United States. On the farm, she learned how a commercial layer farm operates and how to supply consumers with quality poultry products.
Maddie works at the Penn State Meats Lab in her spare time. On behalf of Ag Student Council, we'd like to thank Maddie for her work and dedication to the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State.
