Staff Laureate Awards

Each year, the Staff Laureate Awards ceremony recognizes and honors five staff for their contributions to the College of Agricultural Sciences. The program is coordinated by the Staff Advisory Committee and administered by Human Resources.

Eligibility

Staff members within an administrative, academic, or service unit who are classified under the Competencies program, the Union-University Agreement with Teamsters Local #8, or wage payroll in the earned time program are eligible.

Ambassador Award

Michael Powell, 2017 Ambassador Award Recipient

This award honors a staff member who serves as a proactive liaison to external audiences by building relationships, sharing knowledge, and promoting the unit and the College of Agricultural Sciences.

Criteria:

  • Serves as an advocate for the College of Agricultural Sciences and unit programs and services
  • Promotes productive relationships across units and/or organizations
  • Exhibits diplomacy and responsiveness
  • Promotes collaboration and partnerships

Customer Service Award

Peggy Newel, 2017 Customer Service Award Recipient

This award honors a staff member who demonstrates exemplary service to others, internal or external to the unit and the College of Agricultural Sciences.

Criteria:

  • Demonstrates excellence in customer service
  • Exhibits the highest level of professionalism in interaction with others
  • Uses University resources for effective problem solving
  • Practices the philosophy of continuous quality improvement

Roger Martell, 2017 Leadership Award Recipient

This award honors a staff member who demonstrates leadership, high standards of performance, and serves as a positive role model for others.
