Pamela McAllister and Justin Schwartz

Pamela McAllister

My name is Pamela McAllister and I am a senior majoring in Animal Science. I am from Upper Burrell Township which is about 40 minutes northeast of Pittsburgh. Over the four years I have been at PSU, I have been part of Pre-Vet Club and for three of those years I have been a chair on the executive board. The past two years I was blessed to be the Family Relations Chair for Pre-Vet Club THON, but this year I am the Primary THON Chair. Additionally, at THON 2020 I represented PVC and our families as I danced for the whole 46 hours. Those 46 hours were truly something else and has changed me as I dedicate part of my life to THON.

As of right now, my career goal is to be a large animal veterinarian because of my love of cows since I live on a small family farm. On my family's farm we have about 20 beef cows, 7 chickens, a cat, dog, and goat. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, riding horses, crafting and hunting. I am very excited that I have the opportunity to head our THON committee and plan different events to fundraise for all the Four Diamonds families. If you have any questions about what our committee is doing, THON or our families, please feel free to reach out to me!

Justin Schwartz

My name is Justin Schwartz and I am currently a junior majoring in Animal Science. I am originally from Brooklyn, New York now I live in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. This is my third year as a member of the Pre-Vet Club, and it will be my first year serving as an officer on the executive board as the Family Relations Chair for THON. Within the Pre-Vet Club, I am involved with THON, One Health, and the APVMA Symposium. Here at Penn State I am also the Treasurer of the Small & Exotic Animals Club, a member of the Reproduction Research Team, a member of the Animal Welfare Judging Contest Team, and a member of ECLIPSE. I also am currently raising a Susquehanna Service Dog in training, SSD Corduroy. During the summer months, I work at a small emergency veterinary hospital. After graduation, I plan on attending veterinary school in order to become a small animal veterinarian in hopes of specializing in either surgery or exotics.
