Visitors to the Rural Health and Safety Tent - located at Demo Alley and W. 6th Street - can participate in FREE health screenings. Each day from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. FREE health screenings for carotid artery, vision, and blood pressure will be provided. Also visit AgrAbility for Pennsylvanians to learn about adaptive resources for agricultural producers who have a disability or long-term health conditions. Learn about bike and ATV safety, tick removal, and assistive technology for those with vision loss. Worker Protections Standard program will offer two courses daily awarding 1 core credit per talk.

9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Daily, Free health screenings this year will include carotid artery, vision, and blood pressure.

  • The Worker Protection Standard program will be offering opportunities for Core Pesticide Education Credits. Two classes will be offered, each worth 1 Core credit. Classes will be held in the Rural Health and Safety tent next to the tractor rollover demonstration area.
     
    -11:30 a.m. Daily, "Pesticide Storage, Security and Transportation" During this half hour presentation you will learn how to properly store your pesticides for safety, security and preservation of the product as well as tips for transporting pesticides from one location to another. (1 core credit)

         -1:30 p.m. Daily, "Pesticide Spills Happen- What should you do?" Who should you call?” During this half-hour presentation, you will learn what to do in the event you have a spill.              What you should have in your spill kit and who you need to report the spill too. (1 core credit)  

  • AgrAbility PA will have tools, tips, and assistive technology available to educate and inform farmers and agricultural workers about options to continue farming and working in agriculture despite a disability or health condition.

  • American Trauma Society will provide information and activities related to ATV safety, helmets, and concussion education.

  • Northeast Center will have a tick education activity, including examples of real ticks and tick removal kits.

  • North Central Sight Services will provide free vision screenings and demonstrations of assistive technology for those with low vision or vision loss.

  • Preventive Health will provide carotid artery screenings
