Visitors to the Rural Health and Safety Tent - located at Demo Alley and W. 6th Street, can participate in FREE health screenings, interactive activities, gather health and wellness information, and learn about farming with a disability or health condition. FREE health screenings may include carotid artery, vision, thyroid, stroke, blood sugar, blood pressure, colo-rectal, and hepatitis C. Visit AgrAbility, PA to learn about assistive technology, modifications and resources to support farming careers. PA Office of Rural Health Worker Protections Standard program will offer two courses daily awarding 1 core credit per talk at W906 Meeting Room, on the grounds.

  • The Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health booth will have information for you and your family about achieving your optimal state of health. Health professionals will describe how over-consumption of fat, sugar, and salt affect health and wellness. Learn about dental care and how good oral health supports overall health and wellness. Receive a special gift. Try on respirators to determine which model will best protect you when applying pesticides on the farm and information on safety, storage and ticks will be provided. 

  • Worker Protection Standard program will be offering opportunities for Core Education Credits. Two classes will be offered, each worth 1 Core credit. Classes will be held at the West 9th St Meeting Room, (label W906) at 9:30 am and 1:00 p.m.

Those Who Work in Agriculture from Pesticide Exposure"

  • AgrAbility PA  Farming with a disability or long -term health condition can be challenging. We will have tools, tips, and assistive technology available to educate and inform farmers and agricultural workers about options to continue farming and working in agriculture despite a disability or health condition.

  • Northeast Center for Occupational Health and Safety By conducting research, providing education, and developing programs, they work to improve the health and safety of commercial farms, loggers, and fisher workers. Visit them to learn about Stop the Bleed Program, the ROPS rebate program and how you can get safety gear shipped directly to your business.

  • Northcentral Sight Services will provide free vision information, assistive technology examples, and vision assessments.

  • Preventive Health Screenings will provide Carotid Artery and Thyroid screenings.

  • Mount Nittany Health will be providing information and stroke assessments.

  • The LION Mobile Clinic uses a student-led free clinic model to increase access to health care and proactive health choices for under-resourced communities of Pennsylvania. The clinic’s vision is to create a healthier and more sustainable future for the rural communities. Through a mobile health initiative, LION Mobile Clinic strives to provide comprehensive healthcare services, address food insecurity, promote economic development and enhance sustainability practices. The clinic envisions a future where every individual has access to quality healthcare and healthy food options, where economic growth is driven by sustainable practices and where our communities thrive. LION Mobile aims to inspire a culture of health and wellness, while empowering individuals to take charge of their own well-being and contribute to the betterment of their communities.
