Penn State Extension is offering many events for producers in the coming months. Events of note include:

December 19 Farm Food Safety Plan. Come for this certificate program if you are interested in farm practices and food safety risks. A follow up to "Keeping Fresh Produce Safe Using Good Agricultural Practices" program, this goes over basic tools to create your own plan, and you may even leave with your own plan in hand.

Food Safety Modernization Act: Produce Grower Certification Training (Multiple Dates). If you are a fruit or vegetable grower and want to learn more about food contamination, this training is for you. Topics included are FSMA produce safety rule, wildlife, proper water usage, and wildlife.
Succession Planning: What's your exit strategy? (Multiple dates). Those interested in shaping the future of their farm should attend one of these sessions to learn the challenges of passing on your property, or dividing it.

Farm$en$e (Multiple dates). This four session workshop focuses on the finances of the farm, and teaches farmers how to understand their finances. Tools given include cash management, budgeting, and much more.

January 16/23 Transition Cow Management. Concepts taught here focus on improving the performance of transition cows. Animal comfort, feed management, and health monitoring will be some of the topics covered.
