College-wide Scholarships

Consideration for this award is with the intent to provide financial support to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences, or successor academic unit, at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need. From the identified pool of eligible recipients, and to the extent possible, first preference shall be given to students whose home address of residence is in the territory of the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission in Pennsylvania. If no students meet the first preference in a given year, available funds will be awarded to any student based on the general eligibility criteria, regardless of preference. For reference, the territory of the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission currently includes the following Pennsylvania counties: Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, and Wyoming.

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need. The Office of Student Aid is responsible for identifying the eligible pool of students. First preference shall be given to students from the eligible pool who are also enrolled in the Schreyer's Honors College who have a demonstrated financial need. Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all Penn State Extension Educators who are actively enrolled or have been accepted into a graduate degree program or approved professional development program in any institution in a discipline which relates to their extension responsibilities or established area of expertise. Preference shall be given to Educators who have at least three years of full-time continuing employment with the Penn State Cooperative Extension. Consideration of this scholarship shall be made available to an undergraduate student in the College of Agriculture with preference given to a student in the field of botany with award based on scholarship, financial need, and character.

Consideration shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences who have reached at least fifth-semester standing and who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success. Students must be residents of Pennsylvania's 81st Legislative District in accordance with the 1990 census, which includes the school districts of Bellwood-Antis, Huntingdon Area, Juniata Valley, Mount Union, Southern Huntingdon, and Tyrone Area.
