Safety Specialist added to Staff

We are happy to announce that Christopher Cox has accepted the Safety Specialist position in the Facilities and Safety Office. He's earned his AS and BA in Criminology from Mount Aloysius College and his MS in Safety Science from IUP. His primary duties in this new position are:

• Serve as back up Safety Officer for CAS
• Monitor and coordinate CAS safety initiatives, trainings, inspections and programs
• Identify and develop new resources to address safety concerns and deficiencies
• Assist CAS departments in implementing and improving safety plans, programs and hazard assessments
• Ensure compliance on new and existing University safety policies and programs
• Review and investigate incident reports
• Conduct lab inspections and evaluate lab SOP's
• Oversee CAS Building Emergency Evacuation Program
• Maintain and lead CAS Departmental Safety Committee
