Enter the Arboretum's annual jack-o'-lantern contest and see hundreds of lighted jack-o'-lanterns on October 11 and 12.
Register your jack-o'-lantern in the contest on Friday, October 11, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Arboretum's Overlook Pavilion. Contest rules are available on "What's New?" on our home page at arboretum.psu. Ribbons will be awarded for first, second, and third place in seven age categories and for best-in-show, best pop culture, best Penn State, and best arboretum theme. Enjoy the seasonal displays in the H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens all day and see the lighted jack-o'-lanterns from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, October 11 and 12. On Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. there will be family activities. From 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., the band, Western Range, will play. Food vendors will be on site both nights. Please bring a flashlight if attending in the evening.
