“Shiitake Boo” is a Micro Farm operating in both Marion and Alachua counties in North Central Florida. Shiitake Boo provides farm fresh specialty mushrooms in addition to a variety of asian vegetables that are naturally grown and harvested locally in North Central Florida.
This internship opportunity is intended to bring together some outstanding experts in various aspects of Agribusiness, ecology, and applicable fields to establish the best "farm to table" products raised locally. I'm providing an internship opportunity for highly motivated educated professionals in the associate, bachelor's , and/or graduate level degree programs in addition to connect with any PHD professionals in the fields of; Mycology, environmental science, agribusiness, forestry or biology.
Shiitake Boo provides a wealth of "hands on" experience relating to multiple aspects Agribusiness in addition to Micro Farming Operations. Shiitake Boo provides students with an opportunity to gain professional knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Leadership
- Micro Farming operations and B2B Liaison Facility Development and Resourcing Client Acquisition
- Product Sales and Distribution
- Gourmet Mushroom Cultivation and Crop Management
- Marketing and Financial analysis
- Operations Management
- Training
- Future planning
This is a non paid internship however, with prior coordination I can provide on-site housing at the Micro Farm, consisting consists a private studio room/efficiency with with internet, electric, private bath, and complete cooking capabilities for 2 occupants. Transportation and Meals are not included.
