Financial Foundations is a five topic workshop series hosted by the Penn State Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center. The series covers core personal finance topics that create a strong foundation on which learners build their financial futures: budgeting, credit, debt, saving, and investing. Learners who complete the series are awarded a micro credential badge that can be displayed to their academic and professional community. The workshop series consists of five 1-hour group sessions OR three 2-hour group sessions with an instructor (held over Zoom or in person) and three short online learning assignments (30-45 minutes per assignment). The objective of the workshop series is to increase students' understanding and practical application of personal finance skills through guided instruction and hands-on practice.
