Explore plant-based eating with free food samples, recipe cards, an ice cream bike, prize drawings and more!
The Dr. Keiko Miwa Ross Student Farm is hosting its fifth annual Plant Powered PSU on Thursday, October 26 from 5-8 pm, at the community room at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 250 East College Avenue, State College! This is an open house-style event, so stop in at any time throughout the evening!
Plant Powered PSU is an event intended to give the campus and community insight into plant-based foods and meals. There will be food samples, activities and educational stations to teach participants about plant-based food options and the environmental and health impacts that eating habits have. Some highlights include:
- Prize drawings for gift cards and plant-based meal kits
- Collect recipe cards to make your own customizable recipe booklet
- Sample cozy fall foods like warm soups and stews, and hearty grain salad
- Try faux meats–have you ever wondered how real a fake meatball actually tastes? You can try it here!
Students from several organizations, including the Indian Graduate Student Association, Student Nutrition Association, EcoReps and Eco Action, will be there to talk about the cultural histories, nutrition benefits and environmental implications of plant-based eating. The event is made possible thanks to generous donations from Webster’s Café and Catering, Wegman’s, Giant Foods, Nature’s Pantry and TiNDLE.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday evening October 26 to learn about plant-based food options and the health and environmental impacts of our eating habits!
