Hiring 7 mentors and 1 Program Assistant

This is a high energy, hands-on residence program offered at University Park, PA.  Applicants must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be prepared to fulfill the job duties which include:

  • assisting the administrative team in preparing materials for the program
  • maintaining databases
  • daily program operations
  • leading field and class activities
  • responsible for supervising participants indoors, outdoors and overnight
  • managing participant safety
  • organizing materials and supplies
  • conducting inventory
  • clean up

Essential requirements:

  • demonstrated success and enthusiasm with high school aged students
  • excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
  • attention to detail
  • ability to multi-task and learn on-the-job

All members of the university staff, university contractors and faculty and residence life staff of the School for Excellence who will interact and have contact with students in the program will be required to undergo the Pennsylvania State Police and FBI background checks required pursuant to section 111 of the Public School Code of 1949, as amended, and to obtain or have obtained an Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance as a condition for hiring or assignment to the program.
