Would you like to learn more about the international equine industry? Care to take a trip to Ireland to learn about their horse industry and how it compares to the United States? Then apply for ANSC 499: Ireland’s equine industry; a global perspective into the horse world.
This 3-credit course will take place in Spring 2020, with travel to Ireland March 5- 14, 2020. Class will meet Thursdays 11:15 am – 12:45 pm. In the first half of the semester, faculty will prepare students for the topics they will learn about in Ireland. Topics covered will include equine travel, trade, events, research, and biosecurity. While in-country during spring break, students will develop an understanding of the Irish horse market and how it compares to that in the United States. Upon return to Penn State, students will deliver presentations about their experiences in Ireland.
