Summer 2024 applications are now open for Penn State's City Semester Pittsburgh program - a unique and immersive learning experience in urban sustainability. During the program, Penn State students live and learn in Pittsburgh, taking a weekly EARTH 412 course on sustainability and interning with a local partner.

City Semester Pittsburgh is a personalized learning experience for Penn State students at all campuses and of all majors to secure a summer internship, live in Pittsburgh, and study urban sustainability. Hosted at the Penn State Center Pittsburgh, each student is placed with a prominent community partner and takes a 3-credit Urban Sustainability course to explore topics such as climate action, social justice and equity, sustainable design, urban food systems, housing and transportation, clean energy policy, circular economies, and planning.
