The Global Orientation to Agricultural Learning (GOALs) program includes a fall and spring class, and three immersion experiences to the World Food Prize Foundation Borlaug Dialogues, a spring teaching experience, and Belize.

The Global Orientation to Agricultural Learning (GOALs) program is a professional development opportunity for pre-service agriculture educators from Penn State, University of Idaho, and 1890s institutions. This is a year-long program and participants must complete two three-credit courses focused on global citizenship and food security education to be eligible for all three immersion experiences. This program includes the following immersion experiences:
- A week-long training on global citizenship and food security education at the World Food Prize Foundation Borlaug Dialogues in Des Moines, Iowa (October 28th - November 2nd)
- Travel to a location of your choosing to teach a week of global agriculture lessons at a U.S. high school in March 2025
- Opportunity to take part in a week-long immersion experience to Belize in summer 2025
The 2024-2025 courses are at the following times:
- Fall 2024 Course- Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:05 - 4:20 PM
- Spring 2025 Course- Fridays from 2:30 - 5:30 PM
Applications are due on Friday, March 1st. Preference is given to agricultural and extension education students, but is open to any student interested in potentially pursuing a future within agricultural education.
