FRAUDULENT EMPLOYER ALERT - PLEASE READ!
Based on information received by the Bank of America Career Services Center at Penn State University Park, we have reason to believe that several fraudulent recruiters are sending emails to Penn State students posing as faculty from the following:
- Department of Disability of Health and Human Services (DHHS)
- Department of Disability Resources and Educational Services
We strongly recommend that you DELETE and BLOCK any emails or phone calls you may receive related to these postings.
Please be proactive in protecting yourselves from payment forwarding scams and sharing confidential information.
Remember, do NOT:
- Provide SSN, personal bank account, PayPal account, credit card, driver’s license and/or passport information.
- Participate in wiring or transferring funds from a personal bank account or PayPal account to another account. (Oftentimes they may be asked to retain a portion of the funds as payment.)
- Agree to have funds or payments direct deposited into their account without knowing and verifying the employer first.
- Pay upfront fees for an employer to hire them (there may be some rare exceptions to this).
