Penn State Coaly Society applications are open for spring 2023. Students exemplifying leadership in extracurricular activities within the College of Agricultural Sciences are encouraged to apply by 4 p.m. on April 20th.

The Penn State Coaly Society is an honorary society for agricultural students exemplifying leadership in extracurricular activities within the College of Agricultural Sciences. Coaly Society activities include conducting the Guldin Speaking Contest and coordinating the selection of our college's Outstanding Senior.

We are looking for students who are dedicated to the College of Agricultural Sciences and are actively involved in college organizations. New Coaly Society members are selected based on leadership positions (offices or committee chairs) in Ag Hill activities. Other activities, such as judging teams, are also considered. You must be a member of at least one club sponsored by the College of Agricultural Sciences to be eligible, and you must have completed one full semester as of May 5th, 2023, at the University Park campus. Applicants must have reached at least junior class standing academically. Please be thorough in completing the application since this is the only criterion used in selecting candidates. Feel free to use additional paper if necessary, and please be concise in your essay. Although applicants must have an overall grade point average of 2.5 or higher, the primary criterion used for selection is leadership in College of Agricultural Sciences student clubs.

Applications can be picked up at 101 Agricultural Administration Building (corner of Curtin and Shortlidge Roads) or can be requested by emailing Debbie Heeman in the Office for Undergraduate Education at dah54@psu.edu. Applications are due in 101 Agricultural Administration Building by 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 20. The applications must be either typed on the original form or retyped. Computer submissions are acceptable. All applicants will be notified of their acceptance status by email.

Please send questions to Leah Welk at lcw5201@psu.edu or Erin Comp at eec5287@psu.edu.
