CivicSpark is an AmeriCorps program that offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about environmental and community resilience to build professional experience in the public sector through national service.

For 11 months, beginning in September, over 100 Fellows will bring energy, commitment, and drive to support communities as they tackle climate and community resilience challenges while gaining professional experience. You must be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States to apply.

Benefits include:

  • $34,000 living allowance (before taxes, pending state approval, and spread over 11 months)
  • $6,895 Segal Education Award (upon completion)
  • Health insurance and childcare assistance for qualifying Fellows, paid to an eligible provider of your choice
  • SNAP (food stamps) for eligible participants
  • Forbearance on existing qualifying student loans and payment of interest accrued during service term
  • Professional development training
  • Network development with regional and statewide contacts in the community resilience industries
  • Connection to the network of CivicSpark and AmeriCorps alums
