The University of California, Davis is a public land-grant university and one of the 10 campuses of the University of California system

It has the third-largest enrollment in the UC. UC Davis is a comprehensive doctoral research university and has very high research activity. The UC Davis veterinary medicine program ranks number 1 in the world and number 2 in agriculture and forestry. UC Davis is known for its commitment to environmental sustainability, locally and globally. UC Davis currently hosts 35 students and 17 international scholars from Colombia. There are currently 25 faculty and scholars with active collaborators in Colombia and over the past 6 years there have been 654 publications co-authored between UC Davis scholars and Colombia colleagues.

University research strengths/areas of expertise related to activities in Consortium


UC Davis' principal participation in the consortium so far has been through the Rural Education and Extension sub-group and we participated in the Universidad de LaSalle Utopia Rapid Rural Appraisal project led by Washington State University. We are also a member of the Water and Natural Resources Management group and initiated a group in Integrated Pest Management for Vegetable Crops.
