4-H is a Community of Young People all across America who are learning leadership, civic engagement, and life skills. Pennsylvania 4-H serves youth from 5-18 years old. The main focus of 4-H is learning through hands-on as well as digital projects, alongside screened adult volunteers. 4-H Offers a Learning Experience for Everyone, from raising livestock to programming robots. The programs delivered through Penn State Extension with County Educators providing aces to learning and fun in our communities.

Children and youth can learn about the many interactive activities offered by 4-H and other youth organizations. Featuring hands-on activities, demonstrations, or presentations. All week long, explore with microscopes the diseases of plant, experience fish identification, get up close and personal with rabbits, and test your dairy knowledge!

Week Long Exhibits

  • Pennsylvania 4-H - Learn about the state 4-H Program, and build...then launch your own catapult!
  • PA Dairy Princess and Promotion Services Inc - Test your own dairy knowledge, real vs. imitation, and the milk: from farm to table road map. Meet local and state dairy royalty. Test your knowledge with different dairy facts and figures by spinning the wheel. See if you can identify which food products are: Real vs. Imitation. Complete the Milk: Farm to table puzzle to determine the steps of milk production starting from the farm and ending on your table by following the PA road map. You can also visit our second booth in the Dairy and Livestock Tent area.
  • Pennsylvania State Rabbit Breeder's Association will share their rabbit hobby with visitors and share about uses of rabbit throughout the state!
  • PSU Plant Pathology - Plants Get Sick Too! - Hands-on children's activities examine forest fungi, cultivated mushrooms and plants that are 'sick' with common plant diseases. Microscopes and magnifying glasses can be used to get a close look at the materials. You can see many types of fungi that grow in the forest and beautiful mushrooms that are raised on farms. 
  • Governor's Youth Council on Hunting Fishing and Conservation- Want to learn more about professions in these areas. We are looking for Youth age 14-18 who want to find out more and help us to build the next generation of guides and agents to serve in the District Conservation and Natural Resources Program in PA.

  • High Pathogen Avian Influenza (HPAI) - Egg-scape HPAI! One of our Penn State Extension biosecurity educators will be onsite to discuss how to stop the spread of this dangerous disease in poultry and answer your questions.
