It is with delight that Ag IT announces the conclusion to our Box data migration project. According to our records, we believe all accounts owned by College faculty and staff, including Box Non-person Accounts (NPAs), have migrated to OneDrive and/or SharePoint.
What are the impacts?
Account Deactivation: October 4, 2021
On October 4, 2021, Penn State IT will deactivate College faculty and staff Box accounts. As a result, individuals will no longer have access to store files in Box while using @psu.edu accounts. When logging into Box after October 4, users should see a message that the account has been deactivated.
Important note: If you feel your Box account should remain active (or be re-activated), please contact your Ag IT Consultant immediately.
Account Deletion: October 25, 2021
On October 25, 2021, Penn State IT will delete the College's deactivated Box accounts.
Next Steps
Within the next few weeks, Ag IT will begin a phased approach to uninstall Box applications (Box Drive, Box Sync and Box Edit) from Penn State-owned computers. However, no action is needed at this time and more information will be forthcoming from your department or unit’s IT Consultant.
