On an overcast day in April 1983, a crowd gathered and broke ground for the new Snider Agricultural Arena. A modern facility with more than 20,000 square feet of exhibition and educational space, it quickly became a new landmark for the College of Agricultural Sciences. Located directly across from Beaver Stadium, it is a staple of the Penn State community.
During its 40 years of service, the arena has hosted countless livestock exhibitions, hands-on educational events and state visits of governors. It is home to the annual AAUW book sale, the Great Insect Fair, the Horticulture Show, 4-H and FFA programming, and the Ag Alumni Society's annual AG LIVE! Tailgate and silent auction, which benefits the college's undergraduate scholarship fund.
Here's to another 40 years!
