If your work solves a problem, then it may have commercial potential. A variety of resources are available along the path toward commercialization, from research support through protecting your intellectual property.

Industry Licensing

Partnership with industry may be the most direct path to market for some technologies. The Penn State Office of Technology Management coordinates this process from intellectual property protection through industry marketing and license negotiations.

Business Startup

Some discoveries lend themselves to additional development within a small business environment. Inventors may negotiate a license for the intellectual property they develop, and/or may partner with other entrepreneurs to further develop their invention. Penn State offers a variety of resources and support to these small businesses.
